Volunteer Opportunities
No matter what your talents and abilities
are, there's a volunteer role you'll enjoy. Show our country's veterans
you're grateful for their sacrifices and volunteer today.
VA Hospital Volunteers
Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics need volunteers for hospitalized
veterans who are hospitalized far away from home or veterans with
no family or friends.
Volunteers perform a wide range of
duties. Some enjoy direct contact with patients, participating in
recreational programs and other activities on the wards. Other volunteers
assist the VA's professional staff in several ways that involve
little patient contact. Your role as a volunteer at a VA medical
facility can be as basic, and as important, as just being a friend
to a patient in the trying days of illness and therapy.
Contact a local
VA medical center to volunteer.
Flag Placement at Grave Markers
Each Memorial Day, the Morrow County
Veterans Service Office places flags at grave markers for veterans
at local cemeteries. Contact
our office if you'd like to assist in placing flags.
Honor Flight Guardians
Honor Flight would not be successful
without the generous support of our guardians.
Guardians play a significant role on every trip, ensuring that every
veteran has a safe and memorable experience. Duties include, but
are not limited to, physically assisting the veteran at the airport,
during the flight and at memorials. Guardians are responsible for
their own expenses (airline fare, etc.). For additional information,
download our Honor
Flight Guardian Application.
